Creative writing is a skill that can only grow if it is continuously practiced. Like any skill, if you don’t use it, you lose it. I know it’s clichéd, but it’s also true. For me, though, simply practicing is not enough. I want to be able to share what I write, receive feedback, and use my experiences with others to enhance my skill. I want to be able to entertain. AndyGaleWrites is a place for me to do that. Much of what is found on this site is me tapping into different genres and subfields of writing. Trying on new hats. In the past, most of my writing has consisted of academic essays constructed for courses and conferences, and fiction written just for fun.
The Fiction section of this blog consists of short stories (and some longer ones) that have been written to entertain. The Reviews section is included because I tend to (especially lately) read a lot of books and watch a lot of movies. Finally, the Nonfiction section is reserved for essays over everyday occurrences. Be prepared to hear some commentary on the stupid things I tend to encounter people doing (and actually getting away with) out there in the real world.
As stated before, this blog is really just a place for practicing my writing and growing as a thinker and communicator. And hopefully entertaining a few unsuspecting readers along the way.
